I-V flash testing is a tricky business, and our inspectors regularly capture mis-calibrations or mis-operations of the measurement system.
This month, for instance, we captured an operator improperly connecting the modules. The resulting I-V curves were distorted, leading to improper measurement of the maximum power. The Manufacturing Execution System failed to detect the issue.
We also, in the same month, captured pre-shipment inspection flash defects on 10 modules in the same Lot.
Finally, in this same passed month, we captured a claim of temperature coefficient largely deviating from our independent measurements.
Wrong measurements on finished modules (whether maximum power or temperature coefficient) can lead to over-optimistic energy yield estimates, putting the financials of your project at risk. Our inspectors are here to prevent these risks.

ENERGY STORAGE INSPECTION
During our QA/QC services for an energy storage project, we witnessed this month many non-conformities during Factory Acceptance Tests and Production Supervision. For instance, incoming material damaged in storage (and not replaced before we asked), lack of safety protection measures in workshop, no calibration of test tools, water spray test failure, inconsistent round-trip efficiency measurements, etc.
The stationary energy storage business is in its infancy and is today suffering growth pain. Our expert inspectors can help alleviate this pain.
