FACTORY FINDINGS

PV MODULE INSPECTION

– AIR BUBBLES AFTER LAMINATION IN DOUBLE-GLASS MODULES

– DAMAGED JUNCTION BOX COVER

A high proportion of non-conformities we see in the factories are caused by improper operation. This month, we saw some cases falling under this category too, for instance:

– Air bubbles after lamination in double-glass modules: standard operating procedure before lamination calls for an additional piece of POE to be placed before lamination where the busbars are connected to the junction box (in double glass modules). If the operator does not follow the process, air bubbles may appear in the laminate.

– Damaged junction box cover: During module manipulation, the junction box accidentally hits the assembly line, damaging the cover. This issue could be prevented by either protecting hard surfaces near manipulation areas, or a better training of the operators for a more careful manipulation of the modules.
