FINISHED PV MODULE PACKAGING RELATED NON-CONFORMITIES
This month, in PV module pre-shipment inspection, our inspectors caught some non-conforming practices on the finished PV module packaging. If not detected, these non-conformities can cause damages to the modules during transportation. These non-conformities include twisted packing tape, skewed packaging, modules not stacked neatly and extending beyond the edge of the pallet, etc. The method used for module tight packaging also matters. Each impact may introduce microcracks in the cells, and even module glass shattering.
To make sure that the modules can be stacked neatly, usually the operator will use an alignment tool on the edge of the module aluminum frame. However, from time to time, the STS team observes that the tool is either not aligned with the frame edge or even touching the module glass surface, potentially damaging the modules.
