Some of the most common sources of degradation in the field actually come from manufacturing defects which are much easier to be detected in the factory.

Developers usually look at degradation modes triggered by the environment: hail, wind, heat, etc. However, some of the most common sources of degradation in the field actually come from manufacturing defects which are much easier to be detected in the factory. Manufacturing under a robust quality control and inspection/test plan executed by an accredited inspection body may identify these issues early and can save hundreds of thousands of dollars of monitoring and corrective actions.
